This series has used the contents of the Watchtower’s study book, What Does the Bible Really Teach?, as a springboard for employing the approaches contained in my book, Getting Through to Jehovah’s Witnesses: Approaching Bible Discussions in Unexpected Ways.
I’m sure you can see the difference between the passive student role the Witnesses are expecting you to fulfill and the active approach I have set out in this series.
By knowing ahead of time what topics are likely to be covered, making your own notes, and being ready to address the topics using the various approaches I have given you, you will be able to present the gospel effectively to the Witnesses in the midst of their own Watchtower book study.
Going through “Bible Teach” step by step has made this a long series—more than 60 posts.
Because of that, this summarizing post contains two indexing outlines:
- Outline #1 correlates “Bible Teach” chapters with chapters from my book. I’ve also included key points that I made in the blog posts along with links so you can access the posts easily.
- Outline #2 correlates “Bible Teach” chapters with related “Bible Teach” appendices. I’ve also included the posts from this series where I discuss those appendices. Again, I’ve provided links for your convenience.
For those who prefer online tables to outlines, I have indexed this blog series by way of three tables.
You can access each of these tables in PDF format by clicking on the link for the table you want to view.
- Table 1: “Bible Teach” Chapters — Getting Through to Jehovah’s Witnesses will help you if you are working your way through “Bible Teach” and you want to know which of my approaches will be useful for a particular chapter. Key points and links to related blog posts from this series are provided. Table 1
- Table 2: “Bible Teach” Chapters — “Bible Teach” Appendices correlates “Bible Teach” chapters with its appendices. Related posts from this series are linked. Table 2
- Table 3: Getting Through to Jehovah’s Witnesses Chapters — “Bible Teach” is the reverse index of Table #1. It will be helpful if you are thinking in terms of specific approaches and topics (the new birth, faith and works, the deity of Christ, etc.) and want to know where best to get into them in the course of a “Bible Teach” study. Key points and links to related blog posts from this series are provided here as well. Table 3
To remind yourself of specifics in any of these resources, simply click the links to my posts and reread my comments.
If the Witnesses insist on using a different study book, then by following the same procedure as I have, you can correlate the contents of that book with the approaches contained in my book.
If you need help, feel free to email me.
