Reaching the Heart of Jehovah’s Witnesses

Most of my blog posts and my book, Getting Through to Jehovah’s Witnessesfocus on showing the Witnesses the Watchtower’s errors in  doctrine.

That is of critical importance if we are going to be able to show them what the Bible really teaches.

However, we also need to be mindful of the importance of reaching Jehovah’s Witnesses hearts as well as their minds. Continue reading

How Good is Good Enough?

When I first studied with Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1972, I was shocked when they told me that only a small percentage of Christians will ever go to heaven and that all others will live on a paradise earth.

It places Jesus in second place: “The name of Jesus Christ ranks second to that of the Most High God, Jehovah.” (The Watchtower, “Like Dew from God and like a Lion Among Nations”, 1/15/62, p. 49) Continue reading

The Most Highly Exalted Name is “Jesus”

When you discuss the divine name with Jehovah’s Witnesses, ask them if they will allow you to show them scriptures which stress the overriding importance of Jesus’ name—not Jehovah’s—because you’d like to hear their take on that. Continue reading

Exalting the Name of Jesus

Name of JesusWhen discussing with Witnesses the importance of the name “Jehovah,” you can use soundbites to build a positive case for the fact that the name the New Testament exalts most highly is “Jesus.” Continue reading
