Young children need the structure of household rules established by their parents, backed up by rewards for obedience and punishment for disobedience. However, if they live under such a system all their lives, something has gone seriously wrong.
Jehovah’s Witnesses can be disfellowshipped and shunned as apostates for believing differently than what the Watchtower teaches as truth.
The Watchtower does not believe in everlasting torment. “Many have striven to be pious out of fear of hellfire,” it says, “but God does not want you to serve him because you are terrified of him.”
